LAS VEGAS (July
19, 2005) – The winners of the inaugural Romero Awards were
announced at a luncheon Monday at Casino Marketing: The 2005
Conference at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The Romero
Awards: Recognizing Excellence in Casino Marketing is a
long-overdue honor for the most significant achievements in casino
marketing and promotion in the gaming industry. The award is named
for casino marketing pioneer and author John Romero.
Romero served as
one of the judges, along with Jim Seagrave, Vice President of
Marketing, Stardust Hotel & Casino; Jackie Brett, Director of
Advertising and Public Relations, Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino;
Ira Sternberg, Vice President Communications & Community Relations,
